My life history started in Tire in 1966. After completing my primary and secondary education in Tire, I got accepted into Kuleli Military High School in 1980 and thus, my high school life started as a boarding student. I lost my father when I was 15 years old and this sorrow and pain beyond words made me grow up a little bit faster. When I graduated from high school in 1984, I voluntarily resigned from my military service and and was accepted into the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ankara Middle East Technical University Faculty of Engineering with the degree I obtained according to the results of the university entrance exam taken at the end of high school.
METU was providing a student with all the necessary environments for inquiry, research, and development. I graduated from METU Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering as an Electrical-Electronics Engineer in 1989. Immediately after graduation, I started working in a research and development laboratory at a private company in 1989.In the same year, I started the Master's program in Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Engineering Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and both worked and completed my master's degree.
After 2 years of work experience, I took the first step to realize my dream and established Star Elektronik in 1991 and AR Elektronik Ltd.Şti as a founding partner in 1992.
I engaged in miscellaneous power and control electronics circuit designs, software, and production, and we started the design and production of Smart Electricity Meters in the early 2000s. In 2008, I created the brand Luna and started to produce Smart Electronic Meters under my own brand. In the forthcoming years, I continued investments with steady steps. Our production numbers, which increased with new designs and new technologies we developed, made us a company with the highest market share in the smart meter market in Turkey a while later. LUNA has become the biggest meter company not only in our country but also in the Middle East and Balkans with its developing markets and new ranges of product. In the first months of 2022, LUNA joined forces with one of Switzerland’s major industrial enterprises, a leading global provider of integrated energy management solutions, operating since 1896.

In 1995, I married the Economist (MSc) Şule KARABAĞLI and I am the father of one boy and one girl, whose names are Mert and Parla.
The integrity generated by the growing new generations is the future of our children and grandchildren, and no individual can be perceived as better than his/her community. The limits of how well we are, are the limits set by the community in which we are. With this belief, I have been involved in several associations and institutions in my social life. Among these roles are memberships and leadership positions such as:
Membership in TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association), Board Membership in BASİFED (Federation of Industrialists and Businesspeople of Western Anatolia), Membership in ESİAD (Aegean Industrialists and Businesspeople Association), where I also served as Chairman of the Board for a term, Chairmanship of the High Advisory Board of İAOSB (İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone), Board Membership in EGEV (Aegean Economic Development Foundation), Assembly Membership in EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry), and Chairmanship of the EBSO Artificial Intelligence Working Group.
Among my personal interests are playing bridge, playing billiards, watching football, and reading books.
